Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Harvey-Flowers and I will be teaching U.S. History A and English 2A for first trimester.  I look forward to working with each of you to develop your understanding of history and literature.  Please use this website as a resource to stay up to date with our class.  

The website will be updated every Sunday will the schedule and necessary materials for the upcoming week.  Some materials will be withheld to ensure student attendance and participation in class.

EXPECTATIONS:

• Students will treat their peers, the instructor, the classroom, and the equipment with respect.

• Each student is expected to follow the school's code of conduct

• Students will arrive in class and be seated before the bell rings.  

• Students will come to class prepared and keep an organized notebook.

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

• 3-ring binder (1", specifically for this course) 

• notebook (1 subject, specifically for this course) 

• writing utensils (pen, pencil, and highlighter) 

• 1 pk of Index Cards (lined)

HOMEWORK POLICY

All homework is due on the date indicated when assigned.  Homework must be submitted to the appropriate area BEFORE I check your KickStarter daily.  Failure to complete and submit homework in a timely manner will negatively impact both your grade and your understanding of the course.   

ABSENT WORK POLICY  

If absence is excused, you will have 1 day (per each day absent) to make up all work.  You ARE responsible for ALL work (including notes) you missed while you were out.   “I was absent” is not an excuse for NOT having a complete and accurate binder/notebook at all times. Check the “Yesterday’s News” folder for all missing work, and get ALL notes from a peer.   If you have any questions see me before/after school.
